Fifty Hero Scroll Ideas For Ten Trades

Last updated 13 September 2026 · by Out2U Web Design, Taunton

A scroll scrub hero is the top of a web page that only moves when the visitor moves it. Scroll down and the film plays forward. Scroll up and it runs backwards. Nothing plays on its own. The visitor is driving, and people do not walk away from a thing they are driving.

Below are fifty scrolling hero ideas, five for each of ten trades. Each one says what moves, what the visitor does with their hand, and what it sells. Steal any of them. If you want one built onto your own site, the £50 mockup at the bottom is how that starts.

Hero scroll ideas for a plumber

Trade 1 of 10

  1. The Leak Runs Backwards. A kitchen ceiling with a brown stain spreading and a drip forming. Scroll down and the stain shrinks, the drip climbs back into the ceiling, the plaster goes white. Your headline: "We put it back the way it was."
  2. The Boiler Comes Apart. A combi boiler on the wall. Scroll and it explodes into a neat floating diagram, every part hanging in space with a label. Scroll back and it snaps together. It says "we know what is in there" without a word of jargon.
  3. The Radiator Warms Up. A cold blue thermal image of a radiator. Scroll and heat floods in from the valve, orange then white, until the whole room glows. Sells a power flush better than any paragraph about sludge.
  4. The Van Arrives. A street at 7 a.m., empty. Scroll and your van pulls up, the door slides open, the engineer steps out with the bag. Scroll back and the van reverses away. Under it: "Same day. Usually same morning."
  5. The Bathroom Fills In. A bare, stripped bathroom, pipes showing. Scroll and the tiles lay themselves, the bath drops in, the shower screen slides across, the towel lands on the rail. A full refit in one thumb stroke.

Trade 2 of 10

  1. The Smile Straightens. One patient, one close-up. Scroll and crooked teeth glide into line, month by month, with a small counter ticking "Month 1" to "Month 9". Aligners, sold in four seconds.
  2. The Stain Lifts. A coffee-stained smile. Scroll and the stain lifts from the enamel like a tide going out. Scroll back and it returns. Nobody scrolls back twice without booking a whitening.
  3. The Waiting Room Is Not Scary. Start on the door of your practice, closed. Scroll and it opens, the camera walks through reception, past the plant, into the chair, and the chair reclines. The fear is the product. This removes it before they arrive.
  4. The Implant Goes In. A clean cross-section of a jaw with a gap. Scroll and the implant screws in, the crown lands on top, the gum settles around it. Clinical, calm and clear, and it answers "how does it work" without an appointment.
  5. The Child Stops Crying. A small face, tight lipped. Scroll and the mouth opens, the sticker goes on the jumper, the grin arrives. For a family practice this is the only hero that matters.

Hero scroll ideas for a gym

Trade 3 of 10

  1. The Bar Bends. A deadlift at the bottom. Scroll and the bar bends and rises, plates rattling, to lockout. Scroll back and it goes down. The visitor does the rep. They feel it in the thumb.
  2. Twelve Weeks In One Scroll. The same member, same spot, same light, photographed every Monday. Scroll and twelve weeks pass. No numbers on the screen. The picture does the counting.
  3. The Lights Come On. The gym floor in the dark at 5 a.m. Scroll and the lights bang on row by row, the music bar rises, the first member walks in. Sells the early slot to people who think they are not morning people.
  4. The Class Fills. An empty studio. Scroll and mats appear one at a time, then people on them, until it is full and the instructor turns round. Scroll back and it empties. "Twelve spaces. Nine gone."
  5. The Heart Rate Climbs. A rower at rest, a trace on the screen flat. Scroll and the stroke rate rises with the visitor's hand, the trace spikes, sweat appears. Stop scrolling and it holds. This is the only hero that makes people breathe faster.

Hero scroll ideas for a florist

Trade 4 of 10

  1. The Bouquet Builds. One stem in a hand. Scroll and stems arrive one by one, eucalyptus, then roses, then the ribbon ties itself. Scroll back and it unbuilds. Every visitor ends up making a bouquet.
  2. The Bud Opens. A single peony, tight. Scroll and it opens petal by petal, filling the screen. This is the oldest trick in photography and nobody has ever got bored of it.
  3. The Table Sets Itself. A bare wedding table. Scroll and the runner unrolls, the candles rise, the centrepieces bloom down the length. For wedding florists this is the pitch, the portfolio and the price justification in one.
  4. The Shop Window At Dawn. Shutters down. Scroll and the shutter rolls up, the buckets come out one by one onto the pavement, the sign flips to Open. Local, warm, and it puts the visitor on your street.
  5. The Season Turns. One doorway, one arrangement. Scroll and spring becomes summer becomes autumn becomes a winter wreath, without a cut. Says "we do this all year" better than a list of occasions.

Trade 5 of 10

  1. For Sale To Sold. A grey semi in the rain, board reading For Sale. Scroll and the rain stops, the sky clears, the lights come on, the flowers arrive, and the board flips to Sold. This one is built. Drive it here.
  2. The Front Door Opens. Start outside on the step. Scroll and the door opens, the camera walks down the hall, into the kitchen, out to the garden. A viewing with the thumb, before the phone call.
  3. The Valuation Rises. A house on the left, a figure on the right. Scroll and the kitchen gets fitted, the loft converts, the garden gets decked, and the figure climbs with each change. Sells your advice, not just your listing.
  4. The Street Fills Up. An aerial shot of a road, every roof grey. Scroll and roofs turn your brand colour one after another, each with a small Sold tag. Ends on "Forty-one on this street. Yours next."
  5. The Keys Change Hands. Close-up on a set of keys in your negotiator's palm. Scroll and the hand turns, opens, and the keys drop into a buyer's hand below. Scroll back and they return. Small, quiet, and it is the only moment the whole business exists for.

Trade 6 of 10

  1. The Pour. A cup under the spout, empty. Scroll and the espresso pours, the crema builds, the milk lands and the rosetta draws itself. Scroll back and the cup drinks itself empty. People do this for a full minute.
  2. The Bean Roasts. Green beans in the drum. Scroll and they turn tan, then brown, then crack, with a small temperature readout climbing. Tells the roaster story without a paragraph about origin.
  3. The Morning Queue. Your counter at 7 a.m., empty. Scroll and the queue builds, the pastries go from full tray to two left, the light outside brightens. Scroll back and the tray refills. "Get here before the croissants go."
  4. The Window Steams. A cold pavement view through your window. Scroll and the glass fogs from the inside, someone wipes a circle, and you see the room, warm, full, lit. Sells the seat, not the drink.
  5. The Cup Stacks. One takeaway cup with your logo. Scroll and cups stack into a tower that climbs off the screen, with a counter: "Cups this month." Ends on the number, and the number is big.

Hero scroll ideas for a tattoo studio

Trade 7 of 10

  1. The Line Draws Itself. Bare skin. Scroll and the needle line appears along the forearm, stroke by stroke, exactly as the artist drew it. Scroll back and it lifts off. The visitor inks it, then un-inks it, then inks it again.
  2. Stencil To Skin. A purple stencil on a shoulder. Scroll and the stencil becomes ink, the ink becomes healed colour, the redness fades. Three stages every client worries about, answered in one motion.
  3. The Sleeve Wraps. An arm rotates as the visitor scrolls, the full sleeve revolving through 360 degrees. No photo gallery can show a sleeve. This can.
  4. The Cover-Up. A faded old name on a wrist. Scroll and the new piece grows over it until nothing of the old one remains. Scroll back a touch and the ghost shows through. Sells cover-ups to people too embarrassed to ask.
  5. The Flash Wall. Your flash sheets on the studio wall. Scroll and the camera drifts along the wall, close, past every design. Stop anywhere. It is a shop window that walks.

Hero scroll ideas for an accountant

Trade 8 of 10

  1. The Shoebox Empties. A shoebox of receipts, overflowing. Scroll and receipts fly out one by one, sort into neat columns, and the columns become one tidy figure on a single sheet. Scroll back and it all goes back in the box. The whole service, in the thumb.
  2. The Deadline Approaches. A calendar with 31 January circled, weeks away. Scroll and the days peel off. At a week to go, the visitor's own headline appears: "Still time. Just."
  3. The Tax Bill Shrinks. A figure on a plain screen. Scroll and it drops, line by line, as each allowance appears beside it: "Mileage. Home office. Pension." Ends on the smaller number, in your colour.
  4. The Business Grows. A single desk. Scroll and the desk becomes two, then an office, then a unit with a van outside. A quiet line: "We were there at the first desk."
  5. The Fog Clears. A spreadsheet, blurred and grey. Scroll and it comes into focus, the red cells turn green, one line at the bottom reads Profit. Nobody wants to read a spreadsheet. Everybody scrolls this one.

Trade 9 of 10

  1. The Colour Takes. Hair in foils. Scroll and the foils lift away, the colour develops from dull to done, and the light catches it. Scroll back and it goes back under. Colour work has never had a better advert.
  2. The Chair Turns. A client facing away from the mirror. Scroll and the chair swivels round to face the camera, and the reveal is the whole hero. One second of scroll for the moment every salon is built on.
  3. Grown Out To Fresh. Three months of grow-out, roots and all. Scroll and it reverses to the day of the cut. Then a line: "Twelve weeks is too long. Book the eight."
  4. The Blow Dry. Wet hair, flat. Scroll and it dries, lifts and falls into shape, with a small gust that moves with the visitor's hand. Stop scrolling and it stops. People play with it.
  5. The Salon Opens Up. Your front door. Scroll and walk in, past the basins, to the chair by the window, and the stylist looks up. Removes the "what is it like in there" doubt before the first visit.

Hero scroll ideas for a bike shop

Trade 10 of 10

  1. The Bike Explodes. A complete bike. Scroll and it comes apart into every component, floating in space, each one labelled. Scroll back and it rebuilds. Sells the workshop and the parts wall at once.
  2. The Wheel Spins. A wheel on the truing stand. Scroll and it spins, the visitor's hand is the spoke key, and a wobble straightens out as they go. Small, satisfying, and it says "we do this properly".
  3. The Ride Out. Your shop door. Scroll and the camera rides out, down the lane, over the hill, and the town drops away behind. Pure film, and it puts the visitor on the bike before they own it.
  4. The Service Sheet. A tired bike on the stand. Scroll and the chain cleans itself, the cables go new, the tyres plump, the brake pads land, each with a tick in your brand colour. Ends on "Full service, £X, done by Friday."
  5. The Frame Builds. Tubes on a bench. Scroll and they come together, the welds glow and cool, paint flows on, decals land. For a custom builder this is the whole brand in eight seconds of thumb.

How to pick one

Three rules, from building these for real.

Want one of these on your own homepage?

£50 gets you a mockup of your site with the hero moving, in your brand and your colours, on a private link within two working days. If you go ahead with the £300 build, the £50 comes off. If you do not, you have lost a curry and gained a clear answer.

Questions people ask before they scroll

What is a scroll scrub hero?

The top of a web page that only moves when the visitor scrolls. Scroll down and a film plays forward, frame by frame. Scroll up and it runs backwards. Nothing plays on its own, so the visitor is driving it, and people keep doing what they are driving.

Does a scrolling hero work on phones?

Yes. On a phone the thumb does what the scroll wheel does on a desktop. The £300 build includes a phone version with smaller frames so it loads fast on mobile data.

Will a scroll scrub hero slow my site down?

Not if it is built properly. The frames load as the visitor scrolls, not all at once, and the rest of the page is untouched. The first frame shows straight away.

Can it go on the website I already have?

Yes. That is the whole point. It is installed on your existing site, in your brand and colours. You do not need a new website. A £50 mockup shows you what yours would look like before you commit.
